Privacy Policy for ToDoX

Welcome to ToDoX ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Android mobile application (com.rx.todox) handles your information, data collection, permissions, and cloud synchronization features.

1. Information We Collect

ToDoX is designed with a privacy-first approach. Depending on how you use the app, we process the following data:

• Local Task Data: Tasks, sub-step checklists, project categories, deadlines, repeat frequencies, and tags created in Offline Guest Mode are stored strictly on your device's local internal storage.
• Account Information: If you voluntarily sign in with Google, we collect basic profile information (Google ID, name, email address, and profile picture URL) to authenticate your account.
• Cloud Synchronization Data: When logged into Google, your task items, project categories, and attached file metadata are synchronized to Google Firebase Firestore & Realtime Database tied exclusively to your authenticated Google account.
• Google Drive AppData Backups: If you perform a Google Drive backup, encrypted .tdx backup files are saved in your personal Google Drive AppData container, inaccessible to other users or apps.

2. Device Permissions Used & Purpose

ToDoX requests only essential Android permissions necessary to provide core productivity features:

• INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to perform real-time cloud synchronization with Firebase and Google Drive backup/restore services when signed in.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13+ to send timely reminder alerts and deadline countdown notifications for your scheduled tasks.
• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_DOCUMENTS: Required to allow you to select and attach local document files, PDFs, images, or notes to your tasks.
• REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS (Optional): Used solely to allow you to exempt ToDoX from aggressive battery savers, ensuring background task countdown alarms trigger on time.

3. Offline Guest Mode & Data Ownership

You can use ToDoX completely offline without creating an account or signing in. In Offline Mode, 100% of your data remains isolated locally inside your device storage (Documents/ToDoX/). We do not collect, track, or transmit your offline task data to any remote server.

4. Third-Party Services

When cloud features are enabled, ToDoX uses trusted Google infrastructure services. You can review their privacy policies below:

• Google Play Services & Google Sign-In
• Google Firebase Authentication & Firestore
• Google Drive API

No Advertising or Third-Party Tracking: ToDoX does not contain any third-party advertising SDKs, ad networks, or user tracking analytics.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• Deleting Tasks: Permanently deleting tasks or clearing the Bin in ToDoX immediately removes those items from both your device local storage and Firebase cloud storage.
• Account Disconnection: Signing out removes cached account profile credentials from the app. You may request complete account data deletion by contacting us at the support email below.

6. Security

We enforce industry-standard security practices. Cloud network transfers are protected via HTTPS/SSL encryption, and Firebase security rules restrict database access exclusively to your authenticated account ID.

7. Children's Privacy

ToDoX does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have it removed.

8. Beta, Test & Internal Testing Builds

This Privacy Policy also covers beta, test, and internal-testing releases of ToDoX (for example, builds distributed through Google Play's Internal Testing, Closed Testing, or Open Testing tracks, sometimes referred to as "ToDoX Test" or "ToDoX Beta"). These builds are the same application under active development and are governed by the exact same data collection, permissions, and retention practices described above — no additional data is collected, and no separate policy applies. Test builds may be less stable and are intended for early feedback before a feature reaches the public release.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated Effective Date.
